" I am delighted to have been appointed National Youth Development Officer. My involvement with the Society goes back to 1995 when I started helping at the Ozanam Club in Carfin, which I went on to be president of for a few years. As my family had always been involved with the SSVP, I attended many events like the summer fairs at Langbank and summer parish outings.
On the way to becoming NYDO, I have had a few different jobs. I have spent time in Sicily and South Korea teaching English and also trained as a primary school teacher, I taught for one year in the Borders town of Selkirk.
I am very much enjoying the post and particularly enjoy going out to schools and parishes and meeting with young people- I have been overwhelmed at how many young people want to become involved."
